We will be joined by Invited Speaker Dr. Ajay Labade who'll be presenting his talk 'Expansion in situ genome sequencing links nuclear abnormalities to hotspots of aberrant euchromatin repression'.

Dr. Ajay Labade is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology at Harvard University, in the laboratory of Dr. Jason Buenrostro. He earned his MS-Ph.D. in Biology from IISER Pune, where his research focused on the role of Nuclear Pore Complex proteins in the 3D organization of genes, under the guidance of Dr. Kundan Sengupta.

At Harvard, Dr. Labade's research focuses on developing advanced tools for high-resolution spatial mapping of the genome, aimed at uncovering nanoscale nuclear deformations associated with aging and age-related diseases. His upcoming talk will highlight a novel technology he is developing that allows for the direct sequencing of genomic DNA within the nucleus and the precise mapping of its spatial positions relative to nuclear proteins at nanoscale resolution.

The group is open to anyone interested including all career stages and levels of experience with expansion microscopy.

The RMS is pleased to support this user group.
