Thanks to funding from UKRI-BBSRC and in partnership with the Physics of Life Network (PoLNET), the Royal Microscopical Society and the Institute of Physics, we are delighted to offer a Carer's Bursary to support attendance at a scientific conference, meeting or workshop.
Are you a carer balancing caring responsibilities with a passion for bioimaging or biophysics research? If so, we want to help you attend your next scientific meeting, conference, or workshop!
The Carer’s Bursary, supported by BioImaging UK and PoLNET provides financial assistance to researchers who have caregiving responsibilities, including:

✅ Elderly Family Members – Mobility assistance, healthcare support, and companionship
✅ Individuals with Disabilities or Illnesses – Personal care, medication management, and access to services
✅ Other Dependents – Extended family or individuals requiring temporary or long-term care
Who is eligible?
This bursary is open to all carers who are presenting their work at a conference, meeting or workshop, with priority given to those from low-income backgrounds.
What we offer
